Time – Reality & Illusion
Five years flies or crawls depending on one’s perspective. When I was inspired to launch this blog the imploration was simple; the admonition beyond reproach.
‘You have studied diligently the world’s religions; distilled your understanding into a divining rod for your own navigation; made that a daily devotion of contemplation and meditation for more than a decade. Share your exploration now. Blessings received are to be shared.’
If you have ever had an idea that required registering a domain name on the internet, you will appreciate what happened. A quick look at my task list for the day: some seemingly urgent and semi-urgent receded for the moment. I went into my office, booted the computer and logged on. Elizabeth Gilbert’s beautiful narrative, Eat Pray Love, blossomed in my mind. Life Love God appeared as that voice with no sound. A few clicks with my preferred domain registrar and there it was: available, registered and here today.
Appreciating Relationships – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
At some point I started to share the posts on some social media sites primarily Facebook. The traction has been surprising. There are now 1721 followers that receive the posts automatically on publication; 17,850 unique visitors; and 42,324 page views. WordPress is a fabulous communication platform. Thank you! each and all.
As this year has unfolded I have felt a need to shift the focus somewhat. The intersection of our spiritual being and our humanity continues to be the most fascinating aspect of the nature of our humanity; the stressors of our current conundrums call invite a heightened level of awareness, mindfulness and consciousness. In transitioning the focus of these posts each post to will lead to a historic post so that the sequential study of the wisdom texts can continue. We will commence this practice today with June 17, 2012 post, Moderation and flow forward from there.
New Focus and Hopes
These new posts will have the following four sections keeping the rhythm essentially the same. With this new focus I hope that the site will become more conversational and be a platform to share our creative self expression.
Daily Devotional – Moderation
For governing a country well
there is nothing better than moderation.
The mark of a moderate man
is freedom from his own ideas.
The first volume of the Starseed Trilogy by Ken Carey.
Intuitive knowledge featuring a startling new view of human evolution.
John Wooden emerged in avocation from English teacher to basketball coach; from his farm-boy roots in Indiana to an iconic master of the art of discipline and leadership. His legacy of insight and instruction is available to us all. Steve Jamison deserves just credit for letting this history and light shine through in The Essential Wooden.
The American Presidency – The American Presidency Project
Given the bizarre nature of the current Presidential campaign in the United States, the looming Republican and Democratic conventions later this summer and the election in November; I wanted to juxtapose my own reflections on the American Presidency with the previously describe works. The President who takes office in January will face domestic and global issues of pressing and daunting dimensions. Leadership from the Executive Branch calls for wisdom and diplomacy extraordinaire. Perhaps recalling moments from our youthful global leadership perspective will call forth the nature of our higher selves, the elected and the electorate.
