Success is as dangerous as failure.
Hope is as hollow as fear.
What does it mean that success is a dangerous as failure?
Whether you go up the ladder or down it,
you position is shaky.
When you stand with your two feet on the ground,
you will always keep your balance.
What does it mean that hope is as hollow as fear?
Hope and fear are both phantoms
that arise from thinking of the self.
When we don’t see the self as self,
what do we have to fear?
See the world as your self.
Have faith in the way things are.
Love the world as your self;
then you can care for all things.
Tao Te Ching v13
I look for and find ways to express love.
Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It harmonizes and heals. It finds ways to connect us when there seems to be no way.
As I prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus, I am reminded of the power of love. A newborn baby, after all, is the very essence of love.
My love finds expression as kindness to strangers. It also finds form in the love of friends and relatives. The gifts I give and receive are symbols of the warmth and affection we share.
I give the gift of compassion as I pray for those in need. I show love with each smile or kind word I offer to others. In return, I feel even greater love. Love is multiplied as it is given away.
Love one another.—John 13:34
I let forgiveness rest upon all things,
For thus forgiveness will be given me.
I thank You, Father, for Your plan to save me from the hell I made. It is not real. And You have given me the means to prove its unreality to me. The key is in my hand, and I have reached the door beyond which lies the end of dreams. I stand before the gate of Heaven, wondering if I should enter in and be at home. Let me not wait again today. Let me forgive all things, and let creation be as You would have it be and as it is. Let me remember that I am Your Son, and opening the door at last, forget illusions in the blazing light of truth, as memory of You returns to me.
Brother, forgive me now. I come to you to take you home with me. And as we go, the world goes with us on our way to God.
