Believing Is Seeing

Light WithinIf a country is governed wisely,
its inhabitants will be content.
They enjoy the labor of their hands
and don’t waste time inventing
labor-saving machines.
Since they dearly love their homes,
they aren’t interested in travel.
There may be a few wagons and boats,
but these don’t go anywhere.
There may be an arsenal of weapons,
but nobody ever uses them.
People enjoy their food,
take pleasure in being with their families,
spend weekends working in their gardens,
delight in the doings of the neighborhood.
And even though the next country is so close
that people can hear its roosters crowing and its dogs barking,
they are content to die of old age
without ever having gone to see it.

Illusion and TruthFaith
With faith, I first believe, then I see.
Some say seeing is believing—but my spiritual self first believes, then sees. Faith does not require that I know all the steps to take before I begin my journey. I pray with faith, then open my mind and heart to guidance.
When children write letters to Santa Claus, they hope their wishes will come true. My belief is greater even than that of a child. With grown-up faith, I turn within and listen. The answers I receive may be chance encounters, unexpected opportunities, or exciting new ideas.
My faith is confirmed every day. I follow through on my guidance. As I am led, I act; I put feet under my prayers. First I believe, then I see.
Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.—Mark 10:52

Children's Picture BooksI need but call and You will answer me.
I am not asked to take salvation on the basis of an unsupported faith. For God has promised He will hear my call, and answer me Himself. Let me but learn from my experience that this is true, and faith in Him must surely come to me. This is the faith that will endure, and take me farther and still farther on the road that leads to Him. For thus I will be sure that He has not abandoned me and loves me still, awaiting but my call to give me all the help I need to come to Him.
Father, I thank You that Your promises will never fail in my experience, if I but test them out. Let me attempt therefore to try them, and to judge them not. Your Word is one with You. You give the means whereby conviction comes, and surety of Your abiding Love is gained at last.

Be Thankful For Your Karma
Do not criticize your brothers, for this brings about disintegration in your own being, in your own life. Instead, look in love and thankfulness on those with whom your karma has brought you into association.
