He who is in harmony with the Tao
is like a newborn child.
Its bones are soft, its muscles are weak,
but its grip is powerful.
It doesn’t know about the union
of male and female,
yet its penis can stand erect,
so intense is its vital power.
It can scream its head off all day,
yet it never becomes hoarse,
so complete is its harmony.
The Master’s power is like this.
He lets all things come and go
effortlessly, without desire.
He never expects results;
thus he is never disappointed.
He is never disappointed;
thus his spirit never grows old.

Pray for Others
I am comforted as I pray for others.
I have been infinitely blessed by the people in my life. When I make my gratitude list, I think about family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances who have influenced me. My heart is full and open. As my memories shift to those who have made their transition from this life, I take an extra pause. I turn inward and say a prayer of thanksgiving for their lives, which blessed me and everyone around them.
Emotions may overwhelm me when I pray for loved ones who have passed. I miss their presence in my life. When this occurs, I move deeper into prayer. I seek solace and comfort in the ever-abiding presence of God.
In the stillness of prayer I know that just as God cares for me, my loved ones, too, are in God’s constant care.
When I remember you in my prayers, I always thank my God.—Philemon 1:4
The holy Christ is born in me today.
Watch with me, angels, watch with me today. Let all God’s holy Thoughts surround me, and be still with me while Heaven’s Son is born. Let earthly sounds be quiet, and the sights to which I am accustomed disappear. Let Christ be welcomed where He is at home. And let Him hear the sounds He understands, and see but sights that show His Father’s Love. Let Him no longer be a stranger here, for He is born again in me today.
Your Son is welcome, Father. He has come to save me from the evil self I made. He is the Self that You have given me. He is but what I really am in truth. He is the Son You love above all things. He is my Self as You created me. It is not Christ that can be crucified. Safe in Your Arms let me receive Your Son.

Your True Self
The first and greatest claim upon you is the claim of God, or of your spirit; or, in other words, your higher self. Your true self is a shining spirit. You must be true to that shining spirit above all things. Let nothing draw you aside from your soul’s pursuit of truth and light and eternal love.
