The Harmony of Talents

Courage 2Weapons are the tools of violence;
all decent men detest them.
Weapons are the tools of fear;
a decent man will avoid them
except in the direst necessity
and, if compelled, will use them
only with the utmost restraint.
Peace is his highest value.
If the peace has been shattered,
how can he be content?
His enemies are not demons,
but human beings like himself.
He doesn’t wish them personal harm.
Nor does he rejoice in victory.
How could he rejoice in victory
and delight in the slaughter of men?
He enters a battle gravely,
with sorrow and with great compassion,
as if he were attending a funeral.

Harmony 3Talents

Jesus’ parable of the talents expresses the spiritual law of increase. If I let fear or self-doubt prevail, I become like the servant who, upon receiving one talent from his master, buried it. When the servant returned with nothing more than the same one talent, his master took even that gift away.

I choose to live boldly in faith rather than fear, like the two other servants in Jesus’ parable who did not diminish, hide, or hoard their talents, but wisely invested all they were given. Like these faithful servants, I explore exciting and creative ways to express and share my spiritual gifts for the greatest good of all. As I honor my God-given talents, even greater gifts are revealed to me, and my joy and prosperity multiply.

You have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things. Matthew 25:23

I Am As God Created Me 4Be in my mind, my Father, through the day.

Be in my mind, my Father, when I wake, and shine on me throughout the day today. Let every minute be a time in which I dwell with You. And let me not forget my hourly thanksgiving that You have remained with me, and always will be there to hear my call to You and answer me. As evening comes, let all my thoughts be still of You and of Your Love. And let me sleep sure of my safety, certain of Your care, and happily aware I am Your Son.

This is as every day should be. Today, practice the end of fear. Have faith in Him Who is your Father. Trust all things to Him. Let Him reveal all things to you, and be you undismayed because you are His Son.

The Elder Brethren Do Not Judge

The Elder Brethren labor ceaselessly for you and for all men. They do not get angry nor do they judge their younger brethren, because they know God’s laws, God’s plans for the unfoldment of The God within man. The young in soul are quick to pass judgment on others; but the Elder Brethren are patient; they do not expect too much.
