The Master keeps her mind
always at one with the Tao;
that is what gives her her radiance.
The Tao is ungraspable.
How can her mind be at one with it?
Because she doesn’t cling to ideas.
The Tao is dark and unfathomable.
How can it make her radiant?
Because she lets it.
Since before time and space were,
the Tao is.
It is beyond is and is not.
How do I know this is true?
I look inside myself and see.
Tao Te Ching v21
Peace on earth begins with me.
Words from a familiar hymn remind me that I play an important role in contributing to world peace: “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.” My first job is to treat myself with love and compassion. As I forgive myself and release the need to be perfect, I become less judgmental toward others.
As I accept myself and others, I begin to acknowledge and appreciate new perspectives. I appreciate the rich diversity of individual differences. While we may express differently in our appearance, views, likes, and dislikes, we are interconnected. We are one. By opening my heart to acceptance and appreciation, I contribute to world peace.
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus. Romans 15:5
Father, today we will forgive Your world, and let creation be Your Own. We have misunderstood all things. But we have not made sinners of the holy Sons of God. What You created sinless so abides forever and forever. Such are we. And we rejoice to learn that we have made mistakes which have no real effects on us. Sin is impossible, and on this fact forgiveness rests upon a certain base more solid than the shadow world we see. Help us forgive, for we would be redeemed. Help us forgive, for we would be at peace.
A Course In Miracles ~ 359
In the spheres of light, men are tranquil, with shining, God-like faces. Every piece of work is executed perfectly, and the effort of all is applied to further the happiness of the community. Always, in your inner selves and in your quite moments, you can rise into this perfect life, and receive from those who dwell there the inspiration to live likewise on earth. Don’t make the excuse that man is only human. With all the force of the truth that is in us, we say, we know, that man is divine.
